Ugh! We've got a broken arm in the Brown household. Gary is the culprit.... broken ulnar (up near his wrist) with some soft tissue damage.

He was messing around on a skim board when we were on the beach for spring break mid-week & fell on his first try. Chalked it up as being a little too difficult & wanted to quit before he really got hurt... well, I guess the damage was already done. He complained the day we left that he couldn't throw a frisbee & then also had pain on the drive home. Talked about getting it checked out, but I think he thought that in time, it would start to feel better. A little more complaining & eventually we were painting Marin's room and he decided it still shouldn't be hurting. Probably best to get it checked out. Almost 2.5 weeks after returning home from spring break. Which brings us to this...
Definitely not the outcome he was hoping for. Nice to not have a big clunky cast & this option is much better for showering & still being able to run. He did have a smaller splint for a week before getting this big clunker. He's slowly learning how to do simple tasks left handed & using dictation for emails/text at work.

He'll go back for another x-ray at the end of May to see if it has healed well enough to go to a smaller splint for a bit or they'll schedule surgery. Fingers crossed this big cast & keeping him immobile does the trick! xoxo

Maeve's teacher needed some time off this week for some meetings so I snatched up her days & the opportunity to hang with Maeve and her friends.

So funny to see her in the school environment. She does so wonderfully, but even her classmates said they saw a different side of Maeve when I was in the room. She was complaining about having to take too many notes at one point. They all agreed that they had never heard Maeve complain. What the heck??? I guess she only whines & complains for mom! Regardless, we had fun together. It was nice to spend the two days with her & her class. Such a great group of kiddos.

Happy Easter!

We woke up & had Easter breakfast/coffee, watched church on the tv again & just had a chill morning. It was so nice. I didn't even take pics of the girls with their baskets! I am getting bad at taking photos. In the afternoon we went to Katie & Mike's for dinner and had a huge egg hunt for the kids. They had so much fun helping the littles find all the eggs. Even more fun sorting through all the candy!

Maeve was delighted to be reunited with Eva after a week on separate spring break trips. Their little friendship is just so cute. The big girls had their friends on the beach all week, Maeve had friends but was missing her bestie. Eva even brought home a necklace for her... matching of course.
Margaux also got some time in with Marin & Karis when she got home. Helped Gary empty the hot tub & returned the stroller to Katies. They are so goofy.
Not a normal Easter just yet, but nice to get some things done & the girls had off school today. An extra day off has been nice for us all. xoxo

As amazing as vacation is, it always feels equally amazing to be home. Spring Break 2021 has ended & we had a great week. Thankful we were able to make the trip & enjoy a week on the beach.

After years of visiting Orang Beach, our girls are beach regulars now. They all had so much fun with their friends & had some really great beach volleyball games going each day. Nice for them to have a big group of kids & a great mix of boys/girls.

I didn't take as many photos as I typically do. We really just tried to unplug & enjoy the time together.
Most of the beach town was open & functioning pretty normal. Typically we take a day to explore the town & go out to dinner a few nights. None of that this year & it was okay. We did take a morning to get the girls their souvenir beach wear. Other than that, we spent all of our days on the beach & enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was perfect mid-to-high 70's all week.

The last day was the coolest day. High 60's & it still felt amazing. The big girls were a little dramatic & needed sweatshirts on. Still so nice & we were able to be on the beach and still feel comfortable. I think this is the only photo we took of the 5 of us! Too busy having fun!
Love how happy they are on the beach... maybe we need to move closer! I'd also love to compare our photos of the three of them from our 1st year on Orange Beach to now. They sure have grown into these pretty ladies.
Broaghen kiddos all posed & looking for a picture. They've all become pro travelers. We've got this down! Can't wait for our adventures to come.
Another drive through the night to get home... Gary rocked it again! Both ways I had to tell him to take a break & let me drive. The girls slept most of the night, waking up a bit when we stopped for gas but that was about it.
As tired as we are, it is so nice to be home. Thankful the drive was successful. We are all looking forward to our own beds tonight & some Easter celebrations tomorrow. xoxo
