Today at school Maeve was chosen to receive an award. The teachers at school each chose a student who is a great leader amongst their peers & Maeve was chosen! She had no idea until Gary & I arrived in the commons. Then she knew something was up... and was a little embarrassed. 

We were so proud of her! She was nominated by three of her teachers & they really had a nice little write up about her that was read by the principal...

These are the best kinds of awards to get. They all do many great things, but being awarded for being a kind person is pretty wonderful. Very proud of her.

Gary had a flat tire & still made it in time too. We love you Maeve, keep rocking it!! xoxo

 Maeve was pretty happy to get home to see her bffs. Talayla was waiting for her & they got to baking pretty quick. They got the big idea to make this cake that people were making on the internet. 

No clue who this woman is... but she is ugly cake! haha. The actual cake was pretty good though, we ate it all.

She was super worried about running after being on vacation for a week, but she did pretty well. Maybe the rest was good for her legs! Hoping the weather starts to warm up, we're getting closer to outdoor season. I don't want to freeze! xoxo

 And more vacation! Way too many amazing pictures for one post. Our last few days we had some more friends join us on the beach. They were staying at a resort only a bit away. The kids were so happy to have their friends, especially Marin & Marg. They were happy to have the boys around.

We had such a great week. Good news, the hats made it back too!

Already dreaming about our next vacation & wondering where we'll venture next. Cancun did not disappoint. First timers for us all. Gary & I had been to Mexico, but never to Cancun. The girls had a great week, but I think if you asked them...they'd all vote to go back to Punta Cana. Haha. We'll have to see what next year brings but I'm ready to start planning. xoxo

 Vacation Part 2! We made it home safely to a lot of snow. Big snow storm while we were in Mexico & we were not sad to miss it! We were busy here....

The kids had a great week. We were so happy with the resort & all the amenities. The food was really good, even better because I didn't have to make it! haha

I told the kids before we left that we needed more family pictures. It is always so hard to get us all together because we are usually rushing to get to a reservation or the kids are in 5 different directions. But we managed to get a few photos. Thanks girls...

The girls were so happy with these cute cowboy hats that the beach vendor sold them. As long as we can get them home, I believe these hats will get a lot of use.

Middle finger to beach town traffic... or Travis just asking everyone on the bus to flip off the camera. The kids thought it was hilarious.

 Vacation Part 1 - We arrived in Cancun on Sunday night. Flights were all good & the kids were super excited. Vacation crew of 11, ready for a fun week.

It didn't take Maeve & Bhodi long to find these fun swings on the beach. They've been spending a lot of time on them.

There is an awesome beach restaurant which is near the swings so Maeve can swing all day long. Such a pretty view & great breakfast company.

The beaches are stunning. The water is so blue & the girls are loving the waves.

The girls have outfits for every night & have spent about 30-40mins taking photos before dinner each night. They were most prepared for all the photo sessions!

I hope these kids understand just how fortunate they are. We've traveled to some pretty fun places together. And they've all grown so much. 

So far the days have been spent on the beach. It is so nice to wake up, have coffee & breakfast at the beach side restaurant, then put suits on to head to the beach. All 3 are loving the water & waves...

And look adorable in their swimsuits. 

I wish we could vacation once a month to warm places like this...

Track Season 2023! First varsity meet was this afternoon. All the meets will be indoors for a few weeks thankfully, it is so not nice outside yet. This afternoon she ran the mile. Not her best time, but way faster than her first varsity meet as a freshman. 

Gary is such a super fan. I love that he supports Marin by timing her each meet & gives her times as she runs around the track. They're a great team.

Margaux & Maeve don't start until after spring break, so they have some time yet. Always a crazy time of year, but we love watching them. xoxo

 Just as we thought the snow was finally going to start melting & going away... more snow!! Katie & Mike decided to embrace it & make a fort so Maeve and I walked down to help. That turned into Katie, Mike & myself making an igloo with very little help from the kids.

Meanwhile, Marin & Jolie shoveled our driveway...

Spring Break can not come fast enough. We're all ready for some warm temps & sunshine. xoxo

 Jesse & Crystal visited last weekend. It was nice to have them here & the girls enjoyed having Brooks here to play with. You quickly forget what it's like to have a baby in the house & it makes our girls seem so grown up... which they are. 

Sloane cuddled up to Maeve earlier this week too. They are so darn cute!

And tonight we all went to the middle school musical, Footloose. Hayden did great!!
