Maeve almost had her 3rd round of stitches yesterday. She leaned back on a Christmas ornament in her room & it shattered under her hand. A large chunk of the glass went right into her hand. Such a mess & she really freaked out. Scared that it would need to be stitched. Almost a year exactly after her cut at school that landed her a bunch of stitches. Honestly, it probably should have been stitched, but we did our best to keep it under control with glue & steri-strips.  

It was pretty deep & not in a great place for a band-aid. Gary wanted to take her in right away, but she fought it hard. Lots of down time & some elevation, paired with another night sleeping by mom. 

Hoping it stays shut & we made the right decision.

Margaux made a great fashion statement this morning. Too good not to photograph. She was headed out to take a picture for Instagram looking like she had no pants on with my boots.

 Marin was asked to participate in her high school Guy Pageant tonight. They've been practicing for weeks & tonight was the show. She & a few of her friends were involved this evening.

It is a tradition for the senior boys to participate in a "Miss USA" like pageant and have a freshman girl as their partner on stage. Marin participated with Bergen who was a cross country teammate & friend of hers. They looked so darn cute together...minus the giant height difference!

And they did great on stage together. The dance was pretty entertaining!

Bergen took 2nd place. It was so fun to watch...Marin may have needed a little practice walking in high heels. Gave us all a good laugh. xoxo

 Martin Luther King Day means a great winter day with no school! The girls & I headed outside for some ice skating fun with the King's today. Lot's of fresh air & so much fun.

The supervisors stayed warm with snacks & drinks by the fire.

Girls were so happy to be with their friends & spend the day skating.

Maeve & Marg had a great day. Marin stayed home to get her homework done. She missed such a fun day, but I was glad she was able to get ahead a bit. 

Back to school tomorrow... counting down the weeks until Spring Break now! xoxo

We're still comfy inside trying to stay warm. This morning Maeve did some tiny baking. Today's cookie was peanut butter. They are delicious, but so tiny! 

My birthday is done, so that means the tree needed to come down too. Always a bummer, we really enjoy the lights in the evenings.... but it is time. 

Big tree went into the basement & the little tree took its place. Complete with all the Valentines Day decor. Not as pretty, but it does the job. 

We'd all be content with the Christmas tree up all year, but it really takes up a lot of room. Feels so bare with it down. Until next year..... xoxo

 Always nice when your birthday falls on a weekend. We had a pretty chill day. Still so darn cold, all I wanted to do was snowshoe for my birthday & that was not happening today with the cold temps. Would not have been enjoyable. 

Tonight we celebrated with cake & all my favorite people. Feeling grateful & ready for year 42! xo

We stopped and got one carrot cake cupcake & our favorite NYT chocolate chunk cookies to celebrate this guy tonight. Pretty low key, but a. nice night home together.

Dinner (his choice... Chinese food) dessert & some couch time, with a little Fortnite thrown in there! Perfect low-key day for the birthday boy. We love you Gary!! xoxo

Happy 13th Birthday Margaux! 

Such a fun few days celebrating you. Hard to believe that 13 years have gone by since the day you arrived. You've grown & matured into the most loving Justin Bieber lover... haha The Bieber cake turned out perfect!

Favorite Starbucks drink this am with a pumpkin scone from Grandma on the special plate...

This afternoon we drove down to see the New Years ice sculptures. Still soooo darn cold outside. Way below zero, it was a quick stop. 

Tonight we had a nacho table for dinner. The kids love this fun dinner. We did both chicken & beef nachos with all the fixings. Way too much food.

And finally enjoyed this amazing cake!

All she wanted for her birthday was a full length mirror for her room & swimming suits. She got both & was thrilled.

 2022!

We made it! 2021 was another crazy & rather unusual year. We are all hoping that 2022 will bring less Covid & more normalcy. Last night we rang in the new year by celebrating Margaux a bit. Marin headed out with friends, Maeve hung with us & Margaux had a house full of friends over. We started by taking them to Katie & Mikes to sled. So many laughs, but it was cold!

The rest of us chose to hang close to the fire where it was warm & there was hot chocolate.

Happy New Year from Margaux & friends...

We celebrated together tonight with an early bedtime for all. Fun night, but we are all ready for bed. We're snuggled in watching tv before we try to get back on schedule this week.
